The Access Problem
A typical Dubai commercial tower will have most of the following rules, and you generally find out about them the morning of the move:
- The service lift must be booked in advance, sometimes days ahead
- Moves are only permitted outside business hours — often after 6pm or on a Friday
- Building management requires a permit, insurance certificate, or both
- The loading bay has a height restriction that rules out larger trucks
- Protective covering must be fitted in the lift before anything is carried
Any one of these can turn a three-hour job into a failed visit. This is why we ask about the building before we ask about the furniture.
