Construction Waste Disposal in Dubai: Rules, Costs and What We Take

Construction and renovation waste is the category where customers most often get caught out. It is heavy, it is regulated separately from household waste, and it cannot simply be added to a normal junk removal load.

The photo above shows bagged renovation debris staged outside a property in Dubai — the standard way this waste is handled, in manageable bags rather than loose piles.

Why It Is Treated Differently

Construction waste goes to different disposal facilities than general household junk, and those facilities charge by weight. A pickup filled with rubble weighs several times what the same volume of furniture weighs, which is why debris is priced on weight rather than on how much space it takes up.

Dubai also has strict rules on construction waste. Fly-tipping renovation debris carries substantial fines, and responsibility usually sits with the property owner rather than the contractor who left it.

What We Can Take

  • Bagged rubble, tile and plaster debris
  • Broken-out kitchen and bathroom units
  • Timber, skirting, doors and door frames
  • Old cabinetry and fitted wardrobes removed during a strip-out
  • Packaging, offcuts and general fit-out waste
  • Sand, cement bags and small quantities of mixed aggregate

What We Cannot Take

We will tell you this before you book rather than on the day:

  • Asbestos or any material suspected of containing it — this requires a licensed specialist contractor, without exception
  • Chemicals, solvents, paint thinners and fuels
  • Gas cylinders
  • Wet cement or uncured concrete

If you are unsure what a material is, send a photo before the job rather than after.

Bag It Before We Arrive, If You Can

Debris that has already been bagged is faster and cheaper to remove than a loose pile. Loose rubble has to be shovelled and bagged on site, which adds labour time to the job. Heavy-duty rubble sacks are inexpensive and widely available.

Keep bags to a weight one person can lift. Overfilled sacks split during carrying, which costs more time than the extra bag would have.

How Debris Is Quoted

Because weight drives the cost, we quote construction waste from photographs that show the full quantity — not a close-up of one corner of it. Useful photos show:

  • The whole pile or all the bags together, with something for scale
  • Where it is sitting — indoors, on a balcony, at ground level, or up stairs
  • Any large single items such as a bath, a door set or worktop
